Introduction

The media aptly alters the perception of people accordingly. It makes people see themselves through the eyes of the other world. It makes people think through the minds of others. It makes people live the way the world wants them to live. It also makes people act exactly the way the world wants them to act. The media plays the role of a worldly suitor, which is greatly affecting the vision of people towards reality.

Orderly Misperception of Reality

Since people are moulding them on the basis of the media and other world events, it means they at least have an aptitude for what others predict from them. This aspect is necessary for social intercourse. These elements of getting the world and altering ourselves accordingly make a successful relation between actual perception and false perception. But how well-aware are we of what people believe or anticipate from us?However, we are never accurate in our judgments of other people, like what they are expecting from us. We perceive it otherwise. The same is the case in perceiving things on social media.

Does the media play a role in our lives according to our interests?Media sure shows our interest after figuring out the tastes of the general public. Social media serves the same purpose. All the people who are the source of social life actually learn from driving deep into the interests of people. However, it plays the role of an “illusion mirror” to people, which leads people to confusion about reality. And we began to live our lives in accordance with social media. Because we depend more on illusionary perception than on objective reality. All the photo or video-based promotions we witness have the focal role of changing people’s ways of thinking. It does not only affect the thinking of people but also leads them to misperceptions of reality by following the patterns of social media. It generates the usual illusionary expression by expanding the presence of social media in people’s lives more than the actual activities.

The propensity for individuals to overestimate the level of public support for rules considered to be socially good. There is an obvious difference between perceiving the thing which is right before a person and the thing which a person can only witness through images and videos on social media. Because everything has two ends, but images tell us the one-sided story. It blurs the reality and makes it phantom to people. We worldly individuals enjoy pursuing and interpreting objects in the illusionary universe. And the social media is the other name of ‘Illusionary universe’ which is far away from reality. First up, it poorly fits people into it and leave them helpless at the end. Therefore, it builds the artificial attitude of people towards the actual reality because of pluralistic ignorance– describes a circumstance in which the majority position is mistakenly viewed as the minority position on a certain issue or the opposite is true when it comes to the minority position. It greatly affects the behavior, attitude and beliefs.

Here are a few examples from the present, including the high suicide rate, the separation of married couples, etc. They also have two stories, just as everything else. But because we tend to only look at the surface of things without considering the full context, this leads to problems with radicalization and gender among us.Is it affecting our ability to perceive reality exactly? It is weakening the tendency of people to have believe in reality because of the greater influence of social media on us. False stereotypes about women and men are being spread by both which is pushing people to behavior optimism somehow. Actually, we are not attempting to comprehend this exact circumstance while actually living it; instead, people choose to comment on it on social media. Our actual actions are being dug up in hell horribly because of this social media.

Social media is actually the ‘house of illusions’ where people can enjoy unrealistic things and also make others get enjoyment from them by posting their everyday life there out of reality. This house of illusions is open to occupants. Either they are aware that truth is approaching actuality’s doors, or they are not. People are incapable of accepting reality. People give it a rationale, and it gives them a location to create the fictitious characters and perform them in front of an audience. Then, as a result of this predicament, people become confused about reality and unintentionally interpret it incorrectly. The root of the reality perception problem is this comparison of social media life to real life. But the actual world diverges significantly from social media. It simply encourages behavioral pessimism in people.

Does it encourage behavioral pessimism or behavioral optimism in people?I would say it pushes people to behave pessimistically. However, because they interpreted their past differently while living in the house of illusion, the practical and actual lives are diverged. Social media is distorting the perception of people. Their lives are undoubtedly being badly impacted.

Conclusion

According to the above personal viewpoint, social media is a “house of illusions” and an “illusionary mirror” that greatly influences people. It makes people blind towards reality, and they become confused between reality and illusion because they have been dreadfully fitted into it. It is altering the usual attitudes and beliefs of people day-by-day. It is negatively affecting them.
