On Monday, the entire nation was plunged into darkness due to a severe electrical outage.For about 12 hours, it rendered the whole nation lifeless. It has recently caused problems for many of Pakistan’s well-known cities.The lack of electricity has caused significant losses for several large industrialists in about 12 hours.

Poor management is a major factor in Pakistan’s frequent energy outages. Pakistan has frequently experienced an unexpected scenario like this. Most often brought up in 2021 as well. The government’s poor administration has received direct blame from all investigation authorities.

Investigation

While an investigation into the electrical failure started at around 7:00 am on a Monday. In the briefest of winter hours, it took the people into its arms for longer than 12 hours. Pakistan has been sparked by such extended paralyzing hours without electricity. Pakistan has lost somewhere between 100 and 150 billionin just a few hours. According to the sources,just the textile industry suffered anRs. 8–10 billion loss.

The power outage has also caused several gas stations to run low on supplies, which is expected to make the problem worse.

According to officials, it all began when electricity was switched off across PAKISTAN overnight.

 During times of low demand to conserve fuel. It made it impossible for technicians to immediately restart the system after dawn.

Similar to a severe blackout that occurred in Pakistan’s power generation.And distribution infrastructure in January 2021, the current outage was thought to be the result of a technical issue. Poor management could be attributed to it.

There has been darkness for more than 12 hours in Pakistan’s major cities as well. Peshawar, Lahore, Gujranwala, and Islamabad are among them. A variety of police has been loitering in public places to guard against dangers for security.

The electricity outage was resolved, according to recent news, right after 15 hours of constant breakdown. However, there is still a power outage in several parts of Punjab.

Khurram Dastagir

Khurram Dastagir, the minister of power, made a terrible attempt yesterday in a press conference to defend his government. He said that, unlike the summer when Pakistan flocks to air conditioning to escape the heat, electricity usage normally drops off overnight during the winter.

He maintained that the power loss was not a serious catastrophe.And the electricity was being restored gradually. Backup generators came on in many locations including important enterprises and institutions.Including hospitals, and military governmental buildings.

He assured to media yesterday, Engineers are trying to identify the cause of the power outage. There was a great deal of optimism that it would be fixed and restored within a day.

At a second press conference on Monday late in the afternoon, Dastgir stated to the media,

 “We are anticipating that the energy supply will be totally restored tonight”.

Internet and mobile services disappear due to power failure

Due to the power outage, internet services suffered along with a variety of commercial losses.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), warned the nation, users may experience service interruptions due to the widespread power outage.

Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore in particular have had this problem, as have all the major cities.

It also stated that cell phone companies have been directed to inform their respective users and to use their best efforts to replenish generators at the most locations possible. The statement also mentioned how the telecom regulator is coordinating with providers to maintain services across the nation.

According to sources, telecom tower power backups are only effective for four hours.And as a result of the widespread, protracted power outages, mobile services have begun to suffer.

Whereas, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) states that it is gathering data regarding the impacted telecom services.
